Caribbean
Culinary day for families, with
Young
Chef Competition.
Saturday
11th November 2006. 11am - 3pm

The
event
The
family culinary day starts with professional demonstrations &
interactive cooking experiences; followed by the young chef competition
for young people who like to cook. - Age range invited to take
part can be from 9 - 18 years old.
The
day is designed to encourage enthusiasm for cooking among the
young, and awaken new ideas for adults. We know that cooking is
an essential life skill, but we believe that it should also be
celebrated and enjoyed as a hobby, by all.
This
event will ensure that Caribbean cooking is thought of as a worthwhile
pasttime with possibly a career or part-time job, or business
option in the hospitality and catering industry - at some point
in the future. In our experience, children and youth enjoy being
creative in the kitchen, but are not given enough opportunities
to develop and demonstrate their cooking talents.
