Caribbean Food Emporium is pleased to announce
the launch of 6 new frozen food products in Asda stores. There
are two main meal items - Jerk Chicken and Curry Mutton, three
snacks/finger foods - Saltfish Fritters, Plantain slices and
Lamb Mini Filo patties; plus one dessert - Caribbean Rum Cake.
The products can be found across the UK, in locations such
as London, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Watford,
High Wycombe, Swindon, Milton Keynes and Gloucester.
Caribbean Food Emporium (CFE) was founded
in 2001 with the launch of a website to promote Caribbean
Food and Drink in the UK. The
website... www.caribbeanfoodemporium.co.uk receives nearly
half a million hits per month.
The business was the brainchild of Dawn Grant,
former owner of a Caribbean Restaurant/Take Away in East London.
Dawn felt more needed to be done to raise the profile of Caribbean
Cuisine.
Promotion and marketing of the Caribbean Food
industry, then led to the providing of food products via our
online store - Exquisite Foods. CFE has provided Caribbean
Food and Drink to cafes, bars, hotels, festivals, museums,
schools, Members of Parliament... etc. Individuals holding
parties or events have benefited from CFE products being made
readily available.
CFE was instrumental is setting up the Association
of Caribbean Food and Drink Businesses - Caribbean Cuisine
Consortium (CCC).
CFE is 100% black - Caribbean owned. All CFE's
manufactured products are made from authentic Caribbean recipes.
CFE started to develop ready meals with factories in 2006.
Sampling and Negotiations with Asda started
in March 2007.
Products were launched in Asda stores on 7th
April 2008. The Asda team have been a pleasure to work with.
