Exercise
This
improves the life of any person no matter what the age.
Sustained exercise is required in addition to our daily
movements to work, around the home or elsewhere.
Exercise can be made fun.
- Run
around with the children for 20 minutes
- Dancing
- your party, or anyone elses.
- Aerobics
classes
- Playing
a sport
- Joining
a gym
- Jogging
Detoxification
Detoxification
gets rid of the toxins in the body which are eventually
harmful. Toxins come from some by-products of
the foods we digest, also from pollutants in the air we
breathe. Methods of detoxification include:
- a
fast,
- fruit
& water diet,
- herbal
teas or medicines,
- massages,
- sauna,
- steam.
Relaxation
If
you are always on the go, never a moment to rest -
if you can help it - then you need to slow down.
Best to do it voluntarily before you become ill and have
no choice. If you can't stand waiting, get impatient
quickly or frustrated with yourself for not getting enough
done (excluding laziness) then you probably have your muscles
in permanently alarm mode - while awake.
If you have a massage and get to realise how tense you are,
you'll be amazed. Take time out to do nothing
sometimes. Remember also, a holiday is not always
the answer to the problem of requiring rest and relaxation.
Prayer
A
spiritual exercise such as prayer has a better track record
than medication for relieving stress-related illnesses.
Benefits include, lowering your blood pressure, improving
your circulation, helping your memory and depression.
Ten minutes a day could work wonders, even if you have a
busy schedule. For
those with no belief, meditation is the substitute. A quiet
time of SSS - Silence, Solitude and
Love
People
who have love in their lives tend to get ill less.
A good relationship, whether it be between partners, or
between mother and daughter, father and son, or siblings
is invaluable. You just cannot put a price on
it.
Altruism
This
involves being helpful others for the sake of it, not for
any reward. There used to be a popular term
- doing your good deed for the day. A
smile, a friendly face, kindness politeness
are always welcome except by the most miserable. A
good attitude cost you nothing but can make someone's day.
Forgiveness
Holding
grudges and hatred hurts yourself, as well as the person
you are hating. It damages you emotionally and
physically in the long run. It's best to discuss
it, move past it. understand and forgive.
Even if you can't discuss it. Get over it.
We all offend at some time. No one is faultless.
Positive
Mental Attitude
Speaks
for itself. More optimism. Less cynicism. Reduce negative
thinking. Believe things will work out. If you don't try,
you will never know if you would have succeeded. The fun
is also the trying, striving, aspiring. Look for inspiration.
When you receive it,and you know what you must do, DO IT.
