The Kensington Forum - Caribbean Experience (2005)

The Kensington Forum - Caribbean Experience
Guests can close their eyes and pretend they are in the Caribbean, right in the heart of sunny London.
The hotel offers memorable & authentic Caribbean events for all. The Caribbean Experience, run 3 times a months, provides a lively evening with mouthwatering food & entertainment, whilst De Sunday Curry Lime is a more relaxed Sunday occasion for the family.

The Caribbean Experience features the sounds and tastes of the Caribbean islands and it is popular with people of all ages and for all occasions. The all-Caribbean three-course buffet features tempting traditional food from the sun kissed tropical islands and a range of refreshing cocktails and Caribbean beers is available to cool down the spices and spice up the night. You can happily find about 40 different items on the huge buffet spread.

Throughout dinner, you can hear the dinstinctive Caribbean sounds of a steel band and the modern style of the DJ. Join in the fun, as our limbo dancer invites you to try your hand at this Caribbean dance experience. Shake a leg with the DJ after your meal.

On the last Sunday of every month, De Sunday Curry Lime is a family occasion to enjoy. Each month the live entertainment will change, creating a different and unique experience every time. Join us for a relaxing Sunday afternoon between 2-6pm.

Some History...
Wayne Francis, of Caribbean parentage, first organised the event with Orlando Satchell, our international Award winning Caribbean Chef, in 1998. The event has been going strong ever since. The hotel used to hold the Caribbean evenings once per month but they are currently so popular, that they run 3-4 evenings per month with bookings of about 250 - 300 people each night. Loi, the food and beverage manager sings praises about the experience. In the words of event coordinator, Linda Herron, the events are ‘incredibly successful”. Even with 3-4 nights monthly, you would be lucky if you can make a booking before October. Many book weeks and months in advance and once people have experienced the food and ambience, they come back for more.

Ensuring the continued success of these unique Caribbean events, Colin West, the hotel's Caribbean Chef for the last 4 years, supported the rest of the team, thrive in bringing the taste of the Caribbean to the heart of the London.
