Bad
Fats
If
your diet contains a significant amount of fats, especially
saturated fats from animal products, not only are you going
to increase the amount of fat on your body, but also in your
blood. High levels of fats (triglycerides) in the blood decrease
the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. Why? Because the
fats (triglycerides) are sticky. This causes the red blood
cells to adhere to one another therefore decreasing its oxygen
carrying abilities. This also causes thickening of the blood
increasing the risk of blood clotting elements known as platelets
to become more adhesive. When this happens the blood clotting
proteins become more active therefore causing the blood to
suddenly form clots.
If
a clot occurs in the heart artery, you are now at great risk
for heart attack! Try pouring grease or cooking oil down the
sink for a period of time and you will see that it will stop
up after a while. Grease, oils, etc. from the foods we eat
have the same effect on our bodies. When this occurs the body
will lack in oxygen causing you to not only feel fatigue,
but also inhibit fat loss. It takes a considerable amount
of oxygen to utilize the fat on your body for energy. Also,
if you try to suddenly become active, exercise, etc. without
changing your diet this can be harmful or even fatal.
Remember,
high fat concentrations in the blood decreases the oxygen
carrying capacity of the blood. It takes oxygen to not only
utilize the fat on your body, but also for your organs to
function properly. If you get your heart pumping without a
sufficient amount of oxygen, you are now at risk for heart
attack or stroke, during and/or after exercise. For that matter
any activity you do - Yard work, activities with the kids,
etc. How many times have you heard of a man or woman dying
from a heart attack after doing some type of activity, even
an argument with the spouse? Believe me it happens every day!
When
you eat foods in the right combinations at the right time
in the right amount your body is capable of utilizing stored
fat for energy throughout the day. This is what leads to permanent
weight loss without having to severely restrict your diet.
