The Caribbean Food and Drink Expo, will be a culinary exposition of food and beverage created by chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, caterers, bakeries, or supplied by manufacturers and distributors.   It  will allow attendees to experience tastings of delectable dishes classed as foods from the Caribbean and have opportunities to buy or place orders.
 
The aim of Caribbean Food and Drink Expo will be to specifically raise awareness of Caribbean Food and Drink in the UK.    The event will celebrate the diversity of Caribbean food available,   and its benefits.
 
A lively and fun day is envisaged with activities for all.   This will be a Showcase of Caribbean Food and Drink.  There will be 4 main components to the day.
 
 
An Exhibition of companies from the Caribbean Food and Drink Sector in the UK.  
 
The emphasis will be on Caribbean Food and Drink companies based in the UK, or who have a presence in the UK.

A Caribbean Chef competition
 
Chefs from the Caribbean Food Industry,  will be asked to prepare a three course meal for two.   Judges will  assess the menu, style, methods and  presentation.
Chefs will be interviewed before the competition starts.   Prepared meals will be displayed for public viewing.   Winners will  receive prizes from a celebrity guest.
Prizes for the top 3  include: A cheque, Grace hampers, Award or Certificate, Automatic entry to Caribbean Masterchef competition at Hotel Olympia next February.

Fine Dining Experience

Fine Dining Caribbean Sunday lunch prepared by celebrity Caribbean chefs. (optional extra @ £25 ).   There are two sittings,  1pm, and 3.30pm.      Advance bookings are now being taken for the fine dining experience.  Tel 020 8500 4878.

Demonstrations & Workshops
Demonstrations and Classes starting from 11.30am will be taken by celebrated Caribbean Chefs for:
 
Children 9 – 12 years
Teens 13 – 17
Adults
 
Chef demonstrators include,  Orlando Satchell,  Patrick Williams and  Rose of Zodiac Catering.   Josie Dale of  Morley College will be doing hands on classes all day.
Space  will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  
   
There will also be a Presentation about French Caribbean  Cuisine  facilitated by the French Caribbean Association, starting at 12.30pm.

Venue
 
Westminster Kingsway College is the oldest and most prestigious Hospitality College in England.   It has trained many top chefs, including Jamie Oliver, and has been featured in a number of TV programmes.    The large Main Hall downstairs was recently refurbished, and has the look of a 5* hotel.   We will also be using  the demonstration theatre, and other teaching kitchens.   There will be a seated Area for casual public dining on the first floor.
 
 
It is primarily a consumer event,  but we also expect many trade visitors to attend.    
 
The event is sponsored by Learning and Skills Council,  New Nation Newspaper,  Grace Foods Ltd and  Sunrise Bakery.

Tickets: £10 adults, £6 children 6 – 12 yrs,  5yrs and under free.
