Making the most of an exhibition

Business of all sizes are increasingly recognising the importance of participation at exhibitions. Exhibitions provide an opportunity for buyers and sellers to make those important connections that would normally take years to build up under ordinary circumstances. Many businesses spend a small fortune at exhibitions with flashy displays and distribution of crowd-gathering paraphernalia. But how do small businesses stand out from the crowd on a shoestring budget? How do business owners ensure that they and their staff make the most of the opportunity when that important buyer actually does take notice?

Business Link for London’s Knowledge Centre on Black & Minority Ethnic Businesses aims to demonstrate to the Caribbean food sector just how to make the most of an exhibition opportunity at a FREE half-day seminar to be held at Westminster Kingsway College on September 15th, 2003. Food industry expert Jane Milton of Not Just Food will give advice and tips on marketing, display and customer-relationship building techniques.

Delegates should come away from this seminar with a detailed Action Plan for making your future exhibition experiences a success!

Features from the day include…

· A checklist on how to be prepared for new clients

· Tips on how to differentiate yourself from the competition

· Tips on how to make your stand look good without lots of expense

· Tips on how to draw people to your stand

· Advice on creating a good first impression

· Tips on how to stimulate ‘exhibition’ conversation

· Know-how on marketing relevant products to the appropriate customer

· Advice on how to translate interest into actual sales post-exhibition

As a part of the ongoing efforts of Business Link for London’s Knowledge Centre on Black & Minority Ethnic Businesses to assist businesses in the Caribbean food industry, this event is being offered completely free through the support of the EQUAL programme under the European Social Fund.
