Coley's Caribbean-American Cuisine

In 1968, the indomitable Donald Coley migrated to Brooklyn, New York, filled with  enthusiasm and charged with faith in his future. Before that time, he had spent his life in Jamaica pursuing various occupations, but he always cherished the dream to operate his own business.

After acquiring multiple skills in Brooklyn, Donald moved to California in 1980. It was in Los Angeles that Don realized that this was the time to implement his dream. He saw the need for a fine Jamaican restaurant that would serve authentic Jamaican cuisine in a relaxing Caribbean atmosphere.

There was an ever increasing demand for the unique flavored Jamaican cuisine that was served daily at the restaurant and through their popular catering services. Through personal references and promotions, and increased interest in traveling to Jamaica, people came from all over Southern California - even as far as San Diego - to enjoy such traditional specialties as escoveitched fish, curried goat, curried chicken, jerk chicken, oxtail, meat patties, fried plantain, festival bread, tropical beverages and desserts succulently prepared to satisfy the heartiest of appetites.

When asked the secret of his success, Don Coley confidently confided that his hard work, his love of people, his persistence, his quest for excellence, his optimistic attitude and his zealous belief and trust in God are the qualities that have determined his continued success. Donald's success is not measured by financial gain, medals, degrees or diplomas, but by the impact he has made in the lives of the people he has served over the years.

Coley's has continued to enjoy sweet success for more than seventeen years of serving the greater Los Angeles community by providing great tasting food in an atmosphere that exudes a warm and exotic ambience and the epitome of Jamaican hospitality at its best.

In response to the tremendous demand for its fine cuisine, Coley's has moved from its former location on Slauson Avenue, LaderaHeights, to its present location on Florence Avenue, Inglewood. The restaurant is well received by the Inglewood community and still enjoys support from people all over Los Angeles county.

Mr. Coley wants to assure his loyal customers that everything is being done to ensure the high standard of excellence in the service that is provided at this new location and to ensure his customers' comfort, safety and security.
