Review of the year 2006

Caribbean Food Emporium - CFE and Caribbean Cuisine Consortium- CCC

· The First issue of Caribbean Food and Drink Magazine is published.

· CFE/CCC makes agreement with London Sustainability Exchange to support the introduction of Green and Environmental issues to members.

· Two appearances on Television with Sky Andrews and David Chen of Ben TV.

· Three radio interviews held with Colourful Radio

· CFE attended launch of Black owned Media Association at House of Commons, hosted by David Lammy MP and Keith Vaz MP with Gordon Brown MP in Attendance.

· David Lammy MP takes an interest in CCC and wants to be kept informed. He is keen to attend an event in 2007.

· CFE/CCC assisted with sourcing food traders for the Caribbean Showcase in Hyde Park, organised by the Mayor of London

· CCC Networking events were held at Cottons Islington, Windies Restaurant in Greenwich and Glistening Waters.

· Attended launch at Cottons, Islington

· Linked with large party of Hospitality and Catering professionals from Holland

· Started working with Ithacca Media re sponsorship in kind of the Caribbean Pavilion in the World Food Market

· CFE was approached by several TV companies re sourcing of chefs and participants for various shows.

· CCC Members were offered 90% discounted price for attendance at a Meet the Buyer Event in Heathrow.

· CFE works with partner factory to develop Caribbean Ready Meal range

· CFE starts to assist manufacturers with promotion and distribution of ambient products

· Communications with Dianne Abbot MP - re sourcing a Caribbean lunch for delegates to London School and the Black Child Conference at the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre

· Strategic meeting held with the African and Caribbean Business Network, to look at synergies.

· TV opportunities investigated for a series on the Caribbean Food and Drink Industry.

· CFE/CCC support and judge the Jerk Chef Cookout Competition in South London organised by the Write Thing.

· ABi Associates sponsors networking event at the Terrace Restaurant in Holborn, promoting websites for all businesses.

· CFE starts to develop communications with major department stores and supermarket buyers.
