Anthony Cumberbatch won best Caribbean Chef in 2007/08 at the most recent Caribbean Food and Drink Conference, held last November.

Award-winning chef Anthony Cumberbatch has launched Bamboo Grove, a stunning new restaurant, in South Croydon, which offers a sophisticated twist to the traditional

Cumberbatch, (the Savoy, the Ivy, Simpsons and Quaglinos), seamlessly fuses authentic Caribbean flavours and modern European cuisine, to create an exotic mélange of culinary influences, which he describes as - “Nouvelle Caribbean Cuisine”: light, delicate dishes, which are as pleasing to the palate as they are to the eye.

Using locally sourced, mainly organically grown ingredients, and an ethos for producing healthy Caribbean cuisine, Cumberbatch has fashioned a unique menu (A La Carte, Lunch, Set and children’s), which features mouthwatering signature dishes such as; Gourmet Braised Oxtail with parmesan mash, Chilli Crab Claws and Goat Curry Tuille topped with coconut shavings.

Desserts include; Tropical Summer Pudding with papaya and passion fruit compote and Chocolate Terrine, whilst the children’s menu offers dishes such as jerk chicken nuggets served with a mango dip and gourmet burgers with sweet potato chips.
