Dear Colleagues

Re: Green Marketing Advantages for your business.

Here is an opportunity to examine green and environment issues with relation to your business, get guidance for improvements and funding for marketing your business with a green angle.

London Sustainability Exchange is keen to speak to CCC members who would like to be part of a case study with regards to green issues. Further details follow below.
London Sustainability Exchange

London Sustainability Exchange priorities as an organisation are to:

  • Bring people together from different sectors to approach the challenges of making London sustainable.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, and motivate people to share knowledge and ideas.
  • Provide essential learning and practical support for networks of organisations in diverse fields; and
  • Enable London to play a major role in sustainable development worldwide.

Greener Food

Greener Foods is a London Development Agency funded project and key project targets include:

· Reducing sector SME C02 emissions by 20%
· Reducing waste sent by sector SMEs to landfill by 25%, and
· Reducing sector SME water consumption by at least 4%*.

* We are awaiting publication of the Mayor’s Water Action Framework[1][1] before making this target more stringent.

This is a three-year project and one of the first stages of this project will be for LSx to produce 12 case studies by the end of 2006.

The businesses, which agree to become case study candidates, will:

· Receive free promotion through targeted local and national media campaigns.
· Free environment audits
· The business would than be fully supported in implementing any recommendations made, this will be in what ever form both parties think is appropriate.

Examples of support offered would be free use of 'Humitech Sorbite panels'. These panels keep your fridge at the ideal humidity level as well as saving energy, which results in lower utility bills.
· Businesses would also be provided with free promotional items, which could be used to publicise the business as a 'Green Business’ ensuring that you have the competitive edge and can use your good practice as a powerful marketing tool.
It is intended that the funding which has been provided is disseminated with equal weighting to all members of the Food and Drink sectors BAME communities.

If you are interested in taking part in this programme, please contact me as soon as possible.
